Pasco 8 Relief Society Goals for 2010:
1. Read the Book Of Mormon – Remember how we did this a number of years ago when President Hinkley asked us to do this by the end of the year? Well, we thought we would do this as a Relief Society. We encourage you to read even just a little bit. If you feel so inclined to share your testimony or a favorite verse please do so in our Good News Minute time in Relief Society or e-mail Pam at us8now9@yahoo.com and we will share them in our monthly newsletter.
2. Get your food storage and rotate what you have. Last year we started a program with weekly food storage suggestions – we thought we would start that over for this year and finish it up through our monthly newsletter. Each suggestion is per person so multiply the amount for each family member. If you have a food storage recipe you would like to share we would love to print it in our newsletter.
3. Having time for a closing song and prayer at the end of Relief Society. Music brings the spirit into our heart so we would like to be able to have time for that so please help us by limiting your comments after 11:50 so the teacher can wrap up the lesson and we will be able to end on time. Thank you so much.
Pasco Stake Relief Society Goals for 2010:
1. Quilts – ongoing – for those in need and for the Linus Project
2. School Kits – August and September
3. School Bags – for the school kits – come to the Relief Society meeting on Feb. 9 at 7 PM
Food Storage Suggestions

Week 2: 5 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese, 4 cans tomato soup
Week 3: 3 cans mushroom soup, 1 2.5 lb peanut butter

Humanitarian Quilts
Sister Andelin has quilts that can be tied or quilted (even on a machine) for the Linus project. Please see her at church or give her a call and she would be happy to let you help with that. Her phone number is 544-0221.
Don’t forget to do your visiting teaching! Your sisters love to see you!
HELP!!!!
We need to borrow a trailer to get the wheat from Basin City to Pasco. Does anyone have one that can be borrowed? We have quite a few people who have ordered wheat so this would be a big help. Please call Necia Hale at 545-0294 or Pam Anderson at 545-9101. Thanks.
HELP!!!
For our Relief Society Party in March we would like to borrow portable lattices or picket fences to help us decorate. We can pick up and return it to you. Call Pam Anderson 545-9101. Thanks.

January 2010 Meetings
Sister Julie B. Beck (Relief Society General President) – “Relief Society was organized to engage sisters in the Lord’s work and to teach them how to do that in their homes and in their personal lives. If meetings are not strengthening the faith of our sisters, if they are not helping them prepare for the blessings of eternal life, then why are they being held?” (Sept. 2009)
In following the guidance of our Relief Society general presidency and our Relief Society stake presidency our program is changing a little bit. Our activities/meetings will be held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month. (That may change occasionally as the activity or school schedules may dictate.) Each month will have a theme. We will print out Relief Society announcements each month so you will know the location and time. Most of the time we will not be in Burbank but in-town. Also you can see the announcements at http://www.pasco8reliefsociety.blogspot.com/ or call Pam Anderson or Marcie Mitchell.
January 12 @ 7:00 PM Family History is not Dead is our theme for the month. Sister Spurgeon has planned a couple of fun classes about family history that we will be having throughout the year. Our first class will be Digital Scrapbooking and will be taught by Amy Cazier. We will be meeting at her house which is on the corner of Road 76 and Dradie, just south of Argent – 2808 Road 76. You don’t already have to be an expert with digital photography or with computers to attend as we will be learning how. This is a fun way to start family history. She would like a general count as to how many will be attending so she can plan for hand-outs/seating etc. so please sign up on the sign up sheet, call Pam at 545-9101 or respond on the blog.
We will also be working on our Humanitarian quilts. Sister Andelin is heading that up and more information will be forthcoming. Rather than try to cram as many quilts into a short time and turn them in at the stake relief society meeting in September as we have previously done we have been asked to turn them in as we do them. Sister Andelin is planning some quilting meetings at her home throughout the year to tie quilts as well as you can make them on your own and give them to her to turn in.
The new Relief Society manuals, Gospel Principles, are in! If you haven’t received one yet please see someone in the presidency so we can make sure you have one. We will be using these new manuals for the next two years.
